A Sonnet to April SnowfallQuite strange for snow to fall this time of year when all that’s been growing approaches bloom; what reason has the sky to shed cold tear to cover that which will whither so soon? Afraid, perhaps, there was not enough sun to entice out the blossom so longed for, or not enough breeze for kites of the young to fly as high as their parents’ before. Or maybe it’s that it needs to forget that although it’s love is pledged the moon it longs for storms so a rainbow can set.
